Here's your chance! Each month, Mary Lou answers your fashion, wardrobe, and accessorizing questions. If you have something that you need to know, ask away! If your question is chosen, you'll receive a complimentary Organization By Design Survival Kit. What have you got to lose?! For October, 1999: Q: Due to arthritis in my feet, I can wear only flat shoes that have a 5/8" heel or less. I work in an office and need a professional and attractive look. I am average build. What is a good length and style of skirt to wear? Should I coordinate the shoe and hosiery color? A: Many visitors to our site write that they can no longer wear high heels due to arthritis and other ailments that often result from years of wear and tear on the feet. Long skirts and pants are nice style choices if you must wear "sensible" shoes. They conceal footwear the best. In other words, your shoes won't be the focal point of your outfit. And, yes, coordinating shoe and hose color is always a safe bet. |
