Here's your chance! Each month, Mary Lou answers your fashion, wardrobe, and accessorizing questions. If you have something that you need to know, ask away! If your question is chosen, you'll receive a complimentary Organization By Design Survival Kit. What have you got to lose?! For August, 2000: Q: Mary Lou came to our firm about a month ago and she was great! I have been subscribing to your "Tip of the Week" ever since and I love them! I have a fashion question I was hoping you could help me with...What about wearing sweaters now is it okay to wear them on cooler days (or just because the office has the A/C blasting!) or are you supposed to wait until fall? I don't just mean those lightweight sweaters you throw on over a blouse, I mean a bulkier sweater that you pull over your head! Thanks! A: Sweaters are the rage right now especially chuncky knit roll-neck styles with and without sleeves that you pull on right over your head! The sleeveless styles have been popular all summer and are particularly nice when transitioning from summer to fall. I'm not quite ready for wool just yet but I am wearing cotton styles like the ones I mentioned above. As always, dressing well requires some degree of common sense if it hits 100 degrees (highly doubtful but one never knows!) I would forgo sweaters completely and stick with lighter weight shirts and tops. Hope these insights help you out! |
