For December, 2005:

Q: My coat closet is a disaster. We have too many coats for a relatively small space. Any ideas?

A: : Consider picking up a decorative coat tree/rack and placing it outside your main coat closet. In my home, I have one tucked into a corner in our front hallway. It helps cut down on crammed hall closets and it’s also a nice way to dry off coats before putting them back into the closet. Coat trees are also handy for hanging scarves and hats and storing coats when you entertain.
