Editor’s Note: After 13 years of wonderful service to our firm, fashion consultant June Tarter is retiring from working with our private clients. She will remain on staff to help with special projects. She will also continue on as our resident jewelry designer, creating one-of-a kind pieces for our clientele. Organization By Design fashion and image consultant June Tarter has a passion for business and fashion.
Prior to joining Organization By Design in 1997, the Philadelphia native spent 20 years as an insurance professional in New York City. She also took several leaves of absence from her job to join her husband, Robert, as his banking career moved the couple around the world.
During her travels, June tutored English and coordinated fashion shows in some of the world's leading fashion cities including London and Hong Kong. Keeping on top of trends and knowing how to translate them into appropriate business, casual and social attire continues to be one of June's tools for professional and personal success.
So how does one go from being a world traveler and insurance professional to being a fashion consultant in Boston?
"It was perfect timing," says June. "When my husband and I settled in Boston in 1995, I decided to leave the insurance industry and was on a mission to turn my love for fashion into a second career. I worked at Ann Taylor for a while and then attended a Dressing Well seminar and met Mary Lou. I was thrilled when she offered me this position."
As a fashion consultant at Organization By Design, June is responsible for helping our individual clients with wardrobe organization and personal shopping services and with assisting at our public seminars.
"I love my new career, especially helping our clients feel more confident and pulled together. I have met some terrific women and it's truly rewarding to help them manage at least one aspect of their busy lives."
