Elizabeth Fragala joined the Dressing Well team as a stylist in 2004 after living abroad in such fashion-rich cities as London and Tokyo. Following in the steps of her two grandmothers (and a grandfather!), Elizabeth learned to sew as a child. She honed her fashion sense while working at the renowned Issey Miyake boutique and Liberty of London. Elizabeth gained an insider’s knowledge of the industry as an assistant designer at the womenswear manufacturer, Briggs NY.

In her one-on-one work as a fashion and image consultant, Elizabeth calls upon her knowledge of fashion, garment construction and design to help clients pull together new looks that bring them confidence and serenity.

“I learned a lot about garment construction, fitting, pattern making and the business in general at Briggs NY,” Elizabeth says. “Basically, I learned if clothes don’t fit, it’s not the woman’s body that’s the problem, it’s the garment! Whether it’s the fabric, pattern, cut or construction, a garment should fit well and look good, and if it doesn’t, often it’s the manufacturer’s mistake.”

When she and her husband returned to the US from London, Elizabeth accepted a position at Lord & Taylor. It was there that Elizabeth found a passion for working individually with people to help them make the correct clothing choices. She met Mary Lou through a mutual friend. Shortly after, she attended a Dressing Well seminar and was impressed by the depth of Mary Lou’s knowledge.

“Then the book came out and I thought that was fabulous,” says Elizabeth. “I went to the book-signing event and there was this long line of people waiting to see Mary Lou. There was such a warm feeling there. Everyone was friendly and it was all for charity.” Shortly after, Mary Lou called Elizabeth and offered her “my dream job,” she remembers.

Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Asian studies from Seton Hall University, and her Master’s degree in comparative culture from Sophia University in Tokyo. She attended the American School in London, and has taken fashion design and illustration courses from Massachusetts College of Art and the Boston School for Fashion Design.

Organization By Design client Janet Jordan weighs in on Elizabeth’s skill as a consultant: "Elizabeth is a great addition to your team! She has an eye for fashion and has been tremendously helpful in refining and pulling together my wardrobe. Her warm, reassuring manner makes the entire process of getting organized, shopping and dressing a pleasurable experience."

Elizabeth resides in Lincoln, MA with her husband Alan and her son Enzo.
