Don't Let your Style Go on Vacation: 5 Fresh Summer Trends to Wear Now

By Dressing Well Stylist Kathy Smith

It’s summertime and the living should be easy. We are busy updating the summer wardrobes of our clients so that they can effortlessly relax in style.

Here are five trends that have caught our attention with some ideas on how you can add them to your wardrobe as well. Enjoy!

#1. Adult Onesies
Also called rompers or jumpsuits, they make dressing fast, easy and stylish. Best part: your weekend pack just got cut in half!

#2. Circle Bags
The key accessory for summer in straw (our favorite), leather and canvas. The easiest style update under the sun!

#3. Platform Sandals
Take your wardrobe to new heights. Comfortable and edgy. Give them a try!

#4. Wide-Leg Linen Pants
Forget about the wrinkles, they're part of the look. The drape makes them breezy and airy, perfect for beating the heat day and night. A cropped top in an equally lightweight fabric finishes your ensemble.

#5 Kimonos
These traditional Japanese robes are showing up everywhere from beaches to nightclubs as the light-weight layering piece of the moment. They add a pop of color and texture to both casual and dressy outfits. We love them most as beach cover-ups and jean toppers!

For Kathy Smith, clothing and fashion are an extension of who she is. Raised by a mom who was a professional model, Kathy had a bird’s eye view into styling at an early age as she accompanied her mom on photo shoots and watched as a styling team pulled together an eclectic array of clothing and accessories for her mom to bring to life. She recalls being stimulated by the colors, shapes and silhouettes of the selected fashions and speaks fondly of the impact this experience had on her career path.
