Sarah Zengo is a senior stylist on the Dressing Well team, joining in 2011. She has always been a firm believer in the power of personal presentation and the importance of looking and feeling your best.
A native of Boston, Sarah obtained her Master's degree in Communications Management at Simmons College while working at the university for 10 years. At Simmons, Sarah managed successful mentoring programs, supported leadership, and worked on various communications throughout her tenure. Sarah’s extensive experience in customer service, relationship management and passion to help others through unique networking opportunities prepared her for her dream job with Dressing Well, Inc. – to become a fashion consultant to help others look and feel their best.
Inspired by Mary Lou Andre’s book, Ready to Wear, Sarah loved the professionalism and practical approach that Dressing Well, Inc. offered clients and she sought to connect with Mary Lou to learn more about her business. Sarah was 7 months pregnant with her second child when she met Mary Lou, they clicked, the stars aligned and Sarah was invited to join the team.
Sarah's love of fashion and creativity is influenced greatly by her mother, an artist. Their frequent excursions to museums and art studios at a young age sparked Sarah's innate sense of style and passion for fashion. "I have always loved helping people and have a great appreciation for how much personal confidence is linked to the beauty you create in your environment—for me this translates into what to wear and how to wear it. When I found Organization By Design, Inc., I knew that I was meant to be part of this fantastic group and I am honored to represent the company."
Notes firm Founder & President Mary Lou Andre, "Sarah’s positive attitude, excellent fashion sense and ability to switch gears fast to get any job done is impressive. She is a team player who truly partners with her clients by first closely listening to them and then appropriately guiding them to deliver the results they are seeking."
Sarah studied English at UMass Amherst, and also studied abroad twice including an internship at Condé Nast Publications, Inc. in London where she worked for several of the company's magazine publications including Condé Nast Traveler and Vogue. Her overall professional experience brings depth to her keen awareness of how to effectively read situations and work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Sarah works regularly with our private clients for in-home closet consultations, personal shopping experiences, and also presents seminars for Dressing Well, Inc. at colleges and universities, and corporations throughout New England.
Client Dianne Webster shares: "I think of you almost every day! I am so thrilled with the results of our [closet work and] shopping expedition. I keep looking at [my clothing] and feel happy and confident about having the right things to wear for my upcoming trips and social events, as well as a few new selections for work.
I wore the light blue jacket for an important meeting this week and it struck just the right note. I signed up a new client who was recommended to me and a perfect fit for my business. Having the right thing to wear made a huge difference in my ability to "forget myself" and focus on my client's needs and priorities. So thanks again for helping me find exactly the right items of clothing that fit my life. Thanks for being there for me on my wardrobe quest! I appreciate your stylish choices and guidance. You have made a big difference in my life, and I feel very grateful."
Adds client Katie Corbett, "My time with Sarah was the best gift my parents could have given me at this juncture in my career. Sarah not only upgraded my business casual wardrobe to help me get ready for my new job but she went the distance to find pants that truly fit me. Once we landed on the brand that provided the perfect fit, we stocked up and were able to get lots of looks from each pair by mixing them with a variety of tops, blazers and outerwear. I love the skirts and dresses we found too. She educated me about alterations and really nailed the shoes. I can't wait to shop with her again. She's fun and relaxing to be around. I feel totally ready to start my new job!"
